A spider in the bath....

Looking at old kids' TV shows I might now remember what sparked my interest!

Gorgeous little film.

All creatures small are great!

Gavin John Powers

GAVIN is a 36-year-old former production journalist and Mac operator, born and bred in South Yorkshire, UK, with a lifelong passion for the little creepie-crawlies, so many find detestable.

By (at least) the age of nine, he would evade his parents on family holidays, on his personal quest for crickets and other arthropods. A passion he would carry, through his many personal trials and tribulations, into adulthood.

Self-taught on the subject of arachnida, Gavin prides himself on his knowledge of spiders in particular. He also has a limited knowledge of scorpions and some British insects, crustaceans and other arthropods.

This website is a quarry unto which Gavin has plundered much of what he has read and observed over the course of the last ten years, relating to our eight-legged friends.

Gavin lists as his natural history heroes, Sir David Attenborough, Dr. George McGavin, Chris Packham, Mike Dilger, Steve Backshall and David Bellamy OBE, and the late Steve Irwin.
